Empowering Women, Inspiring Success
As part of WP1 – Capacity Building under the EUMEDplus project, ASREN places gender equality and equal opportunities at the core of its actions. Beyond mainstreaming inclusivity across all project activities, we design and deliver targeted initiatives that support, connect, and empower women working within NRENs and the wider STEM ecosystem.
Our Women in STEM efforts focus on practical engagement, visibility, and long-term impact—creating spaces where women can grow professionally, exchange knowledge, and lead change across the region.
Our Key Initiatives
Women in STEM Track @ e-AGE Conferences
Visibility, dialogue, and inspiration at the heart of e-AGE
The Women in STEM Track is a recurring feature within ASREN's annual e-AGE conferences. It provides a dedicated space to amplify women's voices, share success stories, and foster dialogue between experienced professionals, emerging talents, and institutional leaders.
Through curated formats—including panel discussions, workshops, and interactive sessions—the track highlights pathways to leadership, addresses challenges faced by women in STEM, and showcases role models from the region and beyond.
STEM Rise Mentoring Programme
A regional community built on connection, mentorship, and growth
STEM Rise is ASREN's mentoring and community initiative designed to support women at different stages of their STEM careers.
Through the STEM Rise mailing list, members receive curated opportunities, resources, and updates focused on leadership development, career growth, entrepreneurship, and regional networking.
The mailing list also serves as the main channel for announcing upcoming calls, programs, and activities, including the launch of the next STEM Rise mentoring cycle, which will connect emerging talents with experienced mentors from the region and beyond.

Reflections
Empowerment grows when systems evolve — not when individuals are asked to adapt alone.
Leadership begins with the freedom to choose one's own path.
Mentorship is strongest when knowledge flows in all directions.
Cross-border collaboration turns shared challenges into shared progress.
Lasting impact is built through continuity, not isolated moments.
